Instructions

  1. Cook the lentils in the water with salt, turmeric and cayenne pepper for approx. 15 minutes until soft (caution: likes to burn, so stir again and again!). Drain the lentils in a colander.
  2. Fry the onion in a little oil, then add the garlic and ginger puree and fry with it. Add tomatoes, lentils, garam masala, crème fraîche (or yoghurt) and coriander and heat everything again.
  3. The lentils are really spicy. If you don`t like it so spicy, you should use a little less cayenne pepper or a little more crème fraîche.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
