Ingredients

  • 1 onion (s)
  • 1 piece (s) ginger root, about the size a walnut
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 chicken leg (s)
  • 1 ½ cup rice
  • 0.5 ½ cup rice pudding
  • 1 liter water
  • Chicken broth, instant, for 1 liter water
  • oil
  • Spring onion (s), for garnish

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion, ginger and garlic into small pieces. Fry them one after the other with a little oil in a saucepan. Cut the chicken into large pieces, add and fry lightly. Pour water on and add the chicken broth. Let cook until the chicken is done.
  2. Now add the rice and the rice pudding and stir again and again so that it doesn`t burn. When the rice is done, you can garnish the dish with spring onions.
  3. Instead of spring onions, you can also choose other side dishes. In the Philippines, the soup is also often served with fried garlic, soy sauce or salted egg.
  4. Usually it also includes patis, a kind of fish sauce, but it works fine without it. If you have patis at home, you can add a little to the broth.
