Abkhazian mamalyga is a delicious porridge made from corn grits with salted suluguni cheese, which is very easy to prepare.

Ingredients
Corn groats – 1 glass
Water – 3 glasses
Butter – 30 g
Suluguni cheese – 150 g
Salt to taste

Directions
Prepare products for mamaliga in Abkhazian style.
Pour the corn grits into a cauldron or thick-walled saucepan.
Pour in boiling water, stirring the cereal continuously.
Bring the liquid to a boil and simmer the porridge over low heat, stirring constantly, until tender. The cooking time will depend on the cereal, it took me about 20 minutes. If you plan to add cheese when serving, salt the porridge during cooking.
Add butter to the almost finished hominy. If you plan on cooking porridge with suluguni, dice the cheese and add now.
Stir the porridge and simmer, stirring, for a couple of minutes over low heat.
Place the hominy in plates, top with the suluguni pieces and serve the dish to the table.
Abkhazian mamalyga will be an excellent side dish for meat.
