Ingredients

  • 1 pointed cabbage
  • 1 kg potato (s)
  • 4 Mettenden
  • 1 liter meat broth or vegetable broth
  • Caraway seed
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 large onions
  • oil

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice the onions. Wash the cabbage and cut into small pieces. Peel and dice the potatoes. Steam the onions in oil until translucent, deglaze with the stock. Add the cabbage and potatoes. Season well with caraway seeds, salt and pepper to taste. Let simmer for 15 minutes. Then add the meatballs and let simmer for another 15 minutes (if the cabbage and potatoes are not soft enough, let them simmer a little longer, it won`t harm the dish at all). Finally season again if necessary. Serve hot. Note: I think the stew tastes even better the next day if it is warmed up. The stew is also great to prepare.
