Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 200 g suar
  • 200 g desiccated coconut
  • 250 g mararine
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • Hazelnuts, (whole) for decoration
  • 1 kg sugar
  • 750 ml water
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 clove (s)

Instructions

  1. Mix the above ingredients (except for the almonds / nuts) into a dough. Cut off dumplings with a tablespoon, press 1 almond or nut into the middle and shape into an oval.
  2. Do not place the dough too closely on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in the oven at 180 ° C until brown (approx. 10-15 min.).
  3. Cook a syrup from just under a liter of water and the sugar, cinnamon stick and clove.
  4. Dip the cakes in syrup until they are soaked and then serve as dessert.
  5. Make sure that either the cakes are cold and the syrup warm or vice versa!
