For this hodgepodge, I use only one type of sausage, and I also add beans and, of course, pickles. The whole dish is cooked in one pan, which is very convenient.
Servings: 4
Ingredients
1 onion
1 carrot
200 g smoked or semi-smoked sausage
1 cup cooked beans
2 large pickled cucumbers
1/2 bunch of dill
1 clove of garlic
2 medium potatoes
1/2 cup tomato juice or adjika
2 tablespoon vegetable refined oil (for frying)
Directions
Peel the onion and cut it into cubes.
Cut the sausage into cubes too.
Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
And rub the garlic on a fine grater.
I prefer to cook the hodgepodge in a saucepan with a thick bottom and sides so that the soup is completely cooked in one bowl. So, in a 2.5-3 L saucepan with a thick bottom, heat the vegetable oil, add the onions and carrots, cook for a few minutes, until the vegetables are soft.
Then put the sausage and garlic in a saucepan, cook for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cut the pickled cucumbers into small cubes.
Put the cucumbers in a saucepan with vegetables, stir, cook for a couple of minutes.
Pour the beans and potatoes into a saucepan, stir.
Pour the contents of the saucepan with 1 liter of water (if the soup seems too thick, you can add more water), let the soup boil, cook until the potatoes are ready. A couple of minutes before cooking, pour tomato juice or adjika into the soup and add chopped garlic.
Let the prepared hodgepodge stand under a closed lid for about 15 minutes, and then you can serve.
