Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken breast fillet (s)
  • 6 tablespoon sugar
  • 6 tablespoon mirin
  • 6 tablespoon sake
  • 6 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon oil, (peanut oil)
  • 15 g iner
  • 4 clove (s) garlic
  • some spring onions
  • 1 handful sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for 20 minutes so that they do not burn when grilling. If you make yakitori in the grill pan, it is not necessary.
  2. Wash and dry the chicken fillet and cut into 3 cm cubes. Cut the spring onions into 10 cm pieces, including the green pieces.
  3. Finely chop the cloves of garlic and ginger and place in a blender jar with the sugar, mirin, sake, soy sauce and peanut oil and puree thoroughly with the hand blender until there are no pieces left. Then mix the sauce with the chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Bend the spring onions a few times so that they are as long as the chicken pieces and stick them alternately on skewers.
  5. Heat the remaining marinade in a saucepan until it becomes a thick mush, then you can no longer taste the ginger so intensely. Place the skewers on the hot grill pan and sear them all over. Then turn over and over again over medium heat for approx. 5 minutes and brush with the marinade. The sugar should then create a nice glaze.
  6. Finally sprinkle a few sesame seeds on top and you`re done.
