A La Caprese Appetizer of Tomatoes and Cheese

by Editorial Staff

Since any other borrowed dish, Caprese has become a great field for culinary experiments, it can now be found in other designs. My recipe for a traditional Italian dish is also slightly modified, but the taste of this appetizer will be just as great as the original Caprese.

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes – 5 pcs.
  • Hard cheese – 100 grams (can be replaced with fresh soft or processed)
  • Garlic – to taste (I used 2 cloves for 5 tomatoes)
  • Mayonnaise – 30 grams
  • Any greens (I had cilantro) – to taste
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Wash the tomatoes, cut into rings and place on the plate in which you plan to serve the snack on the table.
  2. Peel the garlic and wash. Use garlic to squeeze it onto the tomato slices. If you don’t have a press, then chop the garlic very finely.
  3. Pour mayonnaise on each tomato circle.
  4. Wash greens, cut and sprinkle tomatoes.
  5. Grate hard cheese on a medium or fine grater.
  6. Sprinkle each tomato with cheese and serve the appetizer to the table. It is better to sprinkle the tomatoes with cheese just before serving so that it does not weather.

Enjoy your meal!
