- Soak the raisins in water for 20 minutes, then dry
- Bring water to a boil over medium heat. Add all ingredients, including raisins, and bring to a boil again.
- Reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from heat, set aside for another 15 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick, beat with a fork, add 1-2 tablespoons of oil.
- Serve hot with bobotie.
