This animal cake recipe is my personal little pride. My friend breeds dogs, so I made such an unusual cake for her birthday. I am sharing my experience with you!

Ingredients
Sponge cake – 1 Piece (I have a carrot sponge cake with dried fruits. This is the basis for the cake, so it can be anything you like)
Marzipan – 500 Grams
Food Colors – 4 Pieces (Pink, Brown, Black and Beige)
Cognac – 50 Milliliters
Directions
We make the basis for the cake as you like – I’ve baked a carrot biscuit with dried apricots. Pour the cognac in the center and spread – let it be absorbed evenly.
Next, let’s start with marzipan. To begin with, we will cover our biscuit with most of it, and leave to cool. But from the remnants, let’s start creating. We sculpt one ball, one oval and three small beads – we begin to sculpt the dog’s face.
With the help of a toothpick or any device convenient for you, draw the face and carefully make the eyebrows. Let’s send the head to the refrigerator
We make the body from a rectangular block, and from the long stripes twisted between the fingers – legs and arms. We’ll also send the little body to the refrigerator.
We dilute food colors as indicated on the package. I made a whole palette of mixes of beige and brown dyes – so that the shade of the coat turned out to be different for the two dogs. Let’s paint over and leave to freeze. I made one dog “fluffy” – after painting, on a slightly damp marzipan with a stick I began to draw “waves”.
And this beauty turned out! I made the second dog exactly according to the same principle, only I did not draw with a stick, but I glued tiny stripes of marzipan onto the face and body. And if you show your imagination, and come up with your animal!
