Ingredients

  • 6 dumplings (corresponds to approx. 500g raw dough)
  • 200 g cream
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 125 g bacon, diced
  • 200 g Emmentaler, rated
  • Clarified butter, for the mold
  • Parsley, chopped
  • 1 pinch nutmeg, freshly grated
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top / bottom heat.
  2. Halve the dumplings and cut into slices. Grease a baking dish and cover with the dumpling slices, overlapping.
  3. Leave the bacon cubes in a pan and pour over. Whisk the cream with the egg, season with a little salt, pepper, nutmeg and parsley. Spread the cheese over the dumplings and bacon, pour the egg mixture over the top and bake for about half an hour.
  4. This food tastes good with bread as well as potato dumplings. Since we are quite a cheese fan, I add a corresponding amount of cheese to the dish. If you don`t like it that much, just take half, it tastes just as delicious.
  5. A crunchy leaf salad goes well with it.
