Ingredients

  • 180 g butter, soft
  • 180 g suar
  • 3 egg (s)
  • 180 g flour
  • 0.5 ½ pack baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 80 g walnuts, hazelnuts or almonds, chopped or round
  • 3 large apples
  • powdered sugar
  • Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the apples, remove the core and cut the pulp into cubes, drizzle with a little lemon juice ..
  2. Mix the butter with sugar until frothy, stir in the eggs one after the other. Mix the flour with the cinnamon and baking powder and stir into the egg mixture. Stir in the apples and nuts and spread the batter into a 24-inch springform pan (lined with baking paper) or a loaf pan (greased and floured).
  3. Bake at 180 degrees top and bottom heat for 50-60 minutes until golden brown. (For an oven with a microwave: 170 degrees top and bottom heat plus 180 watt microwave, baking time 25-30 minutes)
  4. Let the cake cool down and dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
  5. The cake is nice and juicy and not too sweet. Very popular with family and friends, it has been baked in autumn for years.
  6. The ingredients can be varied as you like: you can use gingerbread or speculoos spices instead of cinnamon, almonds or hazelnuts instead of walnuts, chopped for more bite or ground if you have to go quickly.
