  • 8 slices white bread, possibly more
  • 3 egg (s)
  • 400 ml milk
  • 80 g suar
  • 80 g butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees with top and bottom heat.
  2. Mix the eggs with the milk in a baking dish, then add the sugar, also stir in well. Then put the slices of white bread down in such a way that the entire shape is laid out. In the case of a round shape, simply tear 2 slices into pieces and place them on the edges. Then carefully press the white bread slices down with a fork, so they pull through faster.
  3. After about 5 minutes, all the panes are complete; only a very small amount of liquid should be visible when you push the panes aside. Then spread the butter in flakes on top.
  4. Cook the casserole in the hot oven on the middle rack for about 20 minutes. The casserole is ready when it has risen nicely and is golden brown. Applesauce tastes just as tasty as vanilla sauce or simply pure.
  5. Note: if there is still too much liquid, simply tear another slice of white bread into pieces and add it.
