Take a large mason jar and add the cherries that have not been pitted (otherwise they will be mushy!) And washed. Fill up to the brim with sugar, then with the gin. Now wait approx. 3 - 4 months until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Super delicious in dry sparkling wine. Put 3 - 4 cherries in the champagne glass and add 3 - 4 teaspoons of the gin liqueur. Then fill up with the champagne.
It is particularly ingenious if you first put the cherries and the sparkling wine into the glass and then very carefully let the liqueur run into the glass over a spoon - then the red liquid stays at the bottom!
