Baked Cauliflower Ingredients

  • White bread (crumbled into large pieces) – 3 slices
  • Parmesan (coarsely chopped) – 2 tbsp
  • Butter – 3 tbsp
  • Flour – 1/3 cup
  • Milk – 2 cups
  • Cauliflower (broken into inflorescences) – 1 pcs. (approx. 1 kg)
  • Salt
  • Coarse black pepper
  • Any Swiss cheese (coarsely chopped) – 1 glass

Baked Cauliflower Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. In a food processor, grind the bread and parmesan into large crumbs.
  2. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add flour, cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 minute (not turning brown). Pour in milk gradually.
  3. Put the cabbage inflorescences into the milk mixture, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cover and cook the cabbage until soft, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add Swiss cheese.
  4. Transfer the cabbage mixture to an ovenproof dish (2 liters), sprinkle with the crumbs, and parmesan mixture. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes. Serve the baked cauliflower hot.
