Ingredients

  • 4 large chicken breasts
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoon butter for frying
  • 40 g butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 ½ dl chicken broth
  • 1 ½ dl cream
  • 1 bunch chives
  • 120 g cheese (Appenzeller)
  • 8 slice / s baguette (s)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Leave out the 2 tablespoons of butter in the pan. Fry the meat vigorously for 2 minutes. Take out of the pan and let cool down a bit.
  2. In the meantime, melt the butter in a small saucepan, add the flour and sauté briefly while stirring. Deglaze with the stock and cream and bring to the boil. Let simmer gently for 2 minutes. Take off the fire. Cut the chives into rolls. Finely dice the cheese. Put both in the sauce. If necessary, season again.
  3. Cut the cooled chicken breasts diagonally into slices. Arrange on the bread slices and place in a gratin dish.
  4. Pour the sauce over them and bake immediately in an oven preheated to 220 ° for approx. 12-15 minutes.
