Ingredients

  • 500 g schnitzel from the top shell
  • 4 teaspoons gyros spice
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 200 g cream
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder with salt
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika pulp, (can be left out)
  • 100 g Gouda in slices (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon parmesan
  • 1 tablespoon fat from the pan, from the crispy fried gyros

Instructions

  1. Prepare a marinade of 3 teaspoons of oil, 1.5 teaspoons of lemon juice, 4 teaspoons of gyros spice, 1/2 teaspoon of paprika powder and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Cut the schnitzel into very thin strips and add to the marinade. Mix everything well and marinate for a few hours (better overnight).
  2. Then fry the meat in a pan greased with olive oil (approx. 1 tablespoon) until crispy. In the meantime, prepare the sauce and preheat the oven to 250 ° C.
  3. For the sauce: 200 ml cream with the tomato and possibly Mix the paprika pulp, 1/2 teaspoon paprika powder, 1/2 - 1 teaspoon chilli seasoning salt and the milk (approx. 50 ml possibly more).
  4. Grease the baking dish with a little olive oil and add the crispy roasted meat. Then cover the meat with slices of cheese (e.g. Gouda). Now spread the cream and spice mixture over it. Finally, distribute the parmesan and the fat from the pan over it in lines.
  5. Bake the casserole dish in the oven at approx. 250 ° C for approx. 15 minutes and finally for approx. 5 minutes top heat, so that the cheese layer gets a slightly browned color!
  6. You can serve boiled potatoes tossed in olive oil with parsley, rice noodles or white bread.
