Ingredients

  • 1 kg Kasseler (Kaiser roast)
  • 200 ml white wine
  • 1 can pineapple, sliced
  • 150 g cheese (e.. Gouda), sliced
  • 1 onion (s)
  • 1 clove garlic

Instructions

  1. Cook the Kaiser roast with onion and garlic in a baking dish or Römertopf in a preheated oven (important: place the Römertopf in the cold oven!) At approx. 180 ° C for approx. 80-90 minutes. Pour the white wine over it in between. Then remove the roast and portion it into slices.
  2. Line up the slices alternately with the pineapple slices in the baking dish and place the cheese on top. Then bake again in the oven for about 15-20 minutes at 200 ° C. Serve hot.
  3. Creamed potatoes and salad go well with it. We also like to eat sauerkraut and mashed potatoes with it.
