Ingredients

  • 24 sage leaves
  • 125 g flour
  • 125 ml wheat beer
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • salt
  • 1 lemon (s)
  • Oil or fat for deep-frying

Instructions

  1. Separate the egg. Mix the flour, beer, egg yolk, oil and a pinch of salt into a smooth batter. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the beer batter.
  2. Pull the sage leaves through the beer batter and fry them in 160 degrees hot fat until they are golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper and serve lukewarm, drizzled with lemon juice.
  3. As a small snack in between or as a greeting from the kitchen first.
