Ingredients

  • 180 g okara or 200 tofu, crumbled
  • 200 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg (s) or egg substitute
  • 2 teaspoons wholemeal flour
  • 1 small onion (s), cut into fine cubes
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable stock, instant
  • 2 pinches pepper
  • sea salt
  • Possibly soy milk (soy drink), or water, as required
  • some oil, for frying

Also: (for egg replacement, if needed)

  • 1 tablespoon soy flour
  • 4 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and work by hand into a smooth, no longer sticky mass. If necessary, thicken with a little more flour and breadcrumbs. If the mixture is too dry, add a sip of soy milk or water. Shape the mixture into either meatballs (1 teaspoon mixture) or small balls (1 teaspoon mixture) and fry in oil until golden brown on all sides. If you want to use egg substitute, mix 1 tablespoon soy flour and 4 tablespoon water. Then the patties are suitable for a vegan diet. Tastes good as a side dish but also cold on bread.
