A deliciously refreshing drink. Making berry kvass is very simple. Try it!
Ingredients
Fresh or frozen berries (currants, raspberries) – 300 g
Fresh mint – 3 sprigs
Lemon – 1/2 pc.
Sugar – 100 g (to taste)
Dry yeast – 1/2 teaspoon.
Raisins – 10 pcs.
Water – 2 l
Directions
Rinse and sort the berries (I have white and red currants and raspberries).
Crush the berries with a fork.
Add mint and lemon zest to the water. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
Add berries and sugar to the water with mint and zest. Cool to 36-37 degrees.
When the drink is slightly warm, pour it into a glass jar (I have a 2-litre one), add yeast. Stir.
Cover with gauze and leave at room temperature for 24 hours. Strain the kvass into a bottle through cheesecloth folded in several layers. Add 7-10 raisins. Cap the bottle and refrigerate for 24 hours.
Homemade berry kvass is ready. Enjoy a pleasant refreshing drink !!!
