Ingredients

  • 1 can beans, black
  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 1 chilli pepper (s), green, chopped
  • 0.5 ½ onion (s)
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 carrot (s)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 0.5 ½ bunch coriander greens
  • 1 splash lime juice
  • some vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Coarsely mash the black beans in a large bowl.
  2. Peel and dice the sweet potatoes and cook in a saucepan with plenty of water until soft.
  3. Finely chop the onion, garlic, chilli pepper and carrot and fry with a little vegetable oil until soft. Add to the black beans. Add the sweet potato and roughly mash the mixture again. Add coriander greens and lime juice. Depending on the consistency, bind the mixture further with breadcrumbs. Season with salt, pepper and other spices to taste (e.g. caraway seeds, chilli flakes, poblano chilli etc.).
  4. Cool the mass for approx. 30 minutes.
  5. Then shape patties from the mixture and fry them in a pan over medium heat with fat.
