Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate in a lukewarm water bath, stirring occasionally.
  2. Meanwhile, grease a rectangular baking pan measuring approx. 18 x 25 cm or approx. 20 x 20 cm and refrigerate. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C top / bottom heat.
  3. Mix the flour with the spices and baking soda. Stir the butter into the melted chocolate, remove from the heat and set aside. Beat the eggs with sugar and honey until creamy, then stir in the chocolate butter mixture and the grated orange peel. Then sift the flour mixture over it and stir in with the yogurt. Finally fold in the chopped dates and nuts. Pour into the prepared form and bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes.
  4. Then heat the orange juice with the honey. Pierce the warm cake several times with a skewer and pour the orange juice over it as evenly as possible. Leave to cool in the tin on a wire rack so that the juice can absorb.
  5. Then turn out onto a cake plate and remove the mold. Melt the white chocolate, thin it with a little oil and spread it thinly on the cake. Spread the walnut halves evenly on top.

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
