Borscht for the Winter

  • Beets – 1 kg
  • Carrots – 1 kg
  • Cabbage – 1 kg
  • Tomatoes – 1 kg

  • Vegetable oil – 0.5 kg
  • Salt – 2 tbsp
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Citric acid – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Products for preparing borscht for the winter are in front of you.
  2. Peel, wash, and grate beets. Peel the carrots, wash and grate on a coarse grater. Wash tomatoes, cut into slices or cubes.
  3. Cut the cabbage into strips. Peel the onion, wash and cut into cubes or half rings.
  4. Mix all vegetables and add vegetable oil, salt, sugar, citric acid.
  5. Put the saucepan on the fire, bring to a boil, cook the borscht over moderate heat for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Rinse jars well, sterilize in any way.
  7. Then put the ready borscht hot in prepared jars.
  8. Roll up borsch from fresh vegetables for the winter. Borscht is ready for the winter.
