Ingredients

  • 1 roll (s) puff pastry from the refrigerated shelf
  • 8 sausages, hotdog or Viennese as desired
  • 2 tablespoon mustard, medium hot or hot
  • 4 tablespoon ketchup
  • 4 tablespoon mayonnaise or hot dog sauce
  • 3 slices cheese
  • 0.5 ½ kl. Glass pickled cucumber (s), preferably sliced
  • 1 large egg (s), whisked
  • some fried onions if you like

Instructions

  1. Spread out the puff pastry and place the sausages in the middle so that four pieces are next to each other and the remaining sausages on top. Then you coat the sausages thickly with the mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise and put the cheese on top. For the next layer, as many or as few gherkin slices as you want. The finale is a layer of crispy fried onions.
  2. Cut the protruding puff pastry diagonally on both sides at the same distance so that strips of pastry form. You fold the strips of dough alternately over the filling. This creates a braided look. Don`t forget to close the ends! Before baking, brush the batter with the beaten egg and sprinkle with more fried onions. Then it goes into the oven for 20 minutes at 190 ° C circulating air.
  3. Cut the braid into thick slices and serve warm. A small salad goes great with it.
