Instructions

  1. Dice toast bread or rolls. Whisk the eggs with the milk and pour over the bread cubes. Season with salt and nutmeg. Knead everything into a dough and shape into a dumpling. Place on a buttered kitchen towel and tie it. Put a wooden spoon under the knot and use it to hang the dumpling in gently simmering water. Let simmer for 45-60 minutes.
