Bruschetta with Strawberries

This sweet Italian-style snack can be served as a champagne appetizer, such as Sunday brunch, or as a quick dessert. Sliced fresh strawberries are beautifully laid out on toasted slices of bread, sprinkled with sugar, and grilled in the oven so that the sugar on the surface of the berries turns into a caramel crust. 10 minutes – and an unusual dessert is ready in a hurry!
Cook: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 3 slices 1cm thick rustic white bread
- 2-3 st. l. unsalted butter
- 10 strawberries, thinly sliced
- 3-5 teaspoon sugar
Directions
- Heat a grill pan over medium heat. Fry the bread until golden brown, about 2 minutes on each side. Brush the toast with butter.
- Spread the sliced strawberries on top of the toast. Sprinkle sugar over the strawberries. Grill in the oven until the sugar begins to caramelize, about 2 minutes.
