Cabbage Rolls in Grape Leaves (Dolma)

Now is the season for young grape leaves, and the recipe for stuffed cabbage in grape leaves is more than ever in handy. For my taste, much tastier than cabbage.

Ingredients

  • 40-50 young grape leaves
  • 1 kg minced meat (I have pork)
  • 0.75 cup raw rice
  • 3-4 tbsp tomato sauce
  • onion
  • carrot
  • greens
  • salt, pepper mix

Instructions

  1. Grind the meat and onions in a meat grinder, add chopped herbs, spices to taste.
  2. Cook the rice and add to the minced meat.
  3. Wash young grape leaves for cabbage rolls, remove cuttings and scald until color changes.
  4. Wrap the minced meat in leaves, like stuffed cabbage, and put in a cauldron
  5. Sprinkle grape cabbage rolls with carrots and onions, add tomato sauce, and a little water.
  6. Close the lid and simmer cabbage rolls in grape leaves over low heat for about 40 minutes.
