Cabbage Solyanka with Beef

There are many recipes for making hodgepodge. Meet another variation – as a second course, we suggest making a hodgepodge of fresh cabbage with beef.

Ingredients

  • Beef – 300 g
  • White cabbage – 350 g
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Tomato paste – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Dried greens – 1 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – 5 tbsp
  • Water – 1 glass

Directions

  1. The first ingredient for hodgepodge is beef. Cut the meat into small pieces of the same size.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan. We put the pieces of beef into butter. We mix. Fry the beef until a light crust forms.
  3. Cut the onion peeled from the husk in the form of cubes (you can in any shape). Add the onion to the beef.
  4. Grind the carrots with a grater. Add the slices to the saucepan.
  5. Shred white cabbage. Add it to beef and vegetables.
  6. Pour in water immediately, which should be boiled and hot. We reduce the fire. Cover the saucepan with a lid. Simmer cabbage for 30 minutes.
  7. Add tomato paste. Already without the lid, simmer the cabbage for another 7 minutes. Add the fire.
  8. At the end of cooking the cabbage and beef hodgepodge, season the dish with ground pepper and salt. Add dried or fresh herbs. We mix. Simmer for a couple of minutes.
  9. Such a hodgepodge resembles a stew, so you can serve cabbage hodgepodge with beef with porridge, rice, potatoes.
