The recipe for a very unusual and tasty dish is young cabbage stuffed with meat. Such a culinary masterpiece can easily be served on a festive table, instead of classic cabbage rolls.
Servings: 6
Ingredients
Young white cabbage – 1 head of cabbage
Minced meat – 300 g
Bulb onions – 1 pc.
Vegetable oil – 25 ml
Chicken egg – 1 pc.
Salt – 2 pinches
Ground black pepper – 2 pinches
Bread – 2 pieces
Directions
Prepare all the required ingredients for the stuffed cabbage. Remove the top protective leaves from the cabbage head. Dry the bread in the oven and grind it into breadcrumbs in a coffee grinder or blender.
Boil water and pour it into a deep container, dip the cabbage there. This way, the cabbage leaves will be steamed and will open easily, rather than break. Leave it on for 10 minutes.
Peel the onion, rinse and chop. Salt the onions in vegetable oil in a frying pan or cauldron until lightly browned (about 3-4 minutes).
Pour the frying into the minced meat, add ground black pepper and salt. Mix the minced meat thoroughly.
Remove the cabbage from the boiling water, drain the water that has accumulated inside, and uncover the leaves that have steamed, leaving the center intact.
Fill the cabbage leaves with the minced meat, spreading it evenly.
Reassemble the cabbage and wrap the cabbage and minced meat in foil. Place the stuffed cabbage in the oven. Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, beat the egg, open the foil and brush the head of cabbage with it. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and bake the cabbage and meat for another 3-5 minutes.
Remove the foil from the hot head of cabbage, cut it into portions and serve baked cabbage stuffed with meat to the table – with fresh herbs, other vegetables, sauces.
