Puff pastry – 800 Grams (ears or pretzels)
Milk – 1 Liter
Flour – 6 tablespoons
Sugar – 0.5 Cups
Vanilla sugar – 10 Grams
Egg – 3 Pieces
Directions
Whisk together eggs and sugar in a deep bowl. Pour flour in portions, pour in a glass of milk.
Pour in the vanilla sugar, the egg-flour mixture should be free of lumps, homogeneous, and smooth.
Bring the remaining 800 ml of milk to a boil. Pour the egg-flour mixture into the hot milk in a thin stream, work constantly with a whisk. Bring the mixture to a boil.
You will immediately feel how the cream will begin to thicken, do not stop stirring for a second, otherwise, it will burn or lumps will form. Boil for one minute – and remove from heat. Cool the cream a little.
Take a large cake dish. Place the cookies as tightly as possible to each other. Brush it generously with cream. Repeat layers of cookies and cream until you are almost out of food.
Leave some of the cookies and cream for decoration. Brush the top and sides of the cake generously with cream.
Crush some of the cookies in a mortar, sprinkle the cake on all sides. Refrigerate overnight.
