Canned Bean Pate

by Editorial Staff

Bean pate is a very budgetary and very tasty dish. A colleague once shared this recipe with me, and now I often cook this bean paste. We love to eat such a pate with bread or unleavened cakes.

Ingredients

  • Canned white beans in their own juice – 400 g
  • Bulb onions – 1/2 pc.
  • Garlic – 2 small cloves
  • Turmeric – 1/3 teaspoon
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Green onions (optional) – for serving

Instructions

  1. Peel the onion, cut into thin half-rings, fry in olive oil until golden brown.
  2. Drain the liquid from the beans (leave a little, otherwise, the pate may turn out to be dry).
  3. Combine beans, garlic, and 1/2 part fried onion in a blender bowl. Season with salt, pepper and add turmeric. Grind until smooth.
  4. Transfer the bean paste to the bowl, top with the fried onions. Decorate the bean pâté as desired (I decorated it with green onions).

Bon Appetit!
