Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into parts
  • 1 lime (s)
  • 1 orange (s)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, finely diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon sauce powder (pepper sauce), alternatively chopped chilli pepper
  • 20 ml vegetable oil
  • 400 g canned tomato (s)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Finely grate the lime peel and squeeze out the juice of the orange and lime. Mix everything well with the diced ginger, garlic, honey, cinnamon and pepper sauce - or the chopped chilli pepper. Rub the chicken parts vigorously with the marinade and cover overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. The next day, remove the chicken parts from the marinade and fry them brown on all sides in the hot oil. Now add the marinade and tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and simmer covered for about twenty minutes.
  3. Then remove the cooked chicken parts and keep warm. Reduce the sauce vigorously until it has a viscous consistency. Pour over the chicken pieces and serve hot.
