Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 onion (s), finely chopped
  • 80 g cashew nuts, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cumin, (cumin)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 250 g basmati, washed
  • 500 ml water
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Lightly brown the onions and nuts in the hot fat. Add the cumin and turmeric and fry briefly.
  2. Add the rice, mix well, season with salt and deglaze with the water, bring to the boil.
  3. Leave to swell for about 15 minutes over low heat with the lid closed.
  4. If necessary add some water.
