Cauliflower with Béchamel Sauce

For vegetable lovers, a delicious recipe for cauliflower. We bake cabbage with béchamel sauce.

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower – 1.2 kg
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Hard cheese – 50 g
  • Salt (for cooking cabbage) – to taste

  • Milk – 300-350 ml
  • Flour – 30 g
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon (to taste)
  • Ground black pepper – on the tip of a knife (to taste)
  • Nutmeg – on the tip of a knife (to taste)
  • Fresh greens – 5 g

Directions

  1. How to cook cauliflower with béchamel sauce:
  2. Disassemble the cabbage into inflorescences, wash.
  3. Boil cabbage in salted boiling water (10-15 minutes).
  4. Place the cabbage in a colander and turn on the oven.
  5. Prepare the béchamel sauce. Melt 1 tablespoon over low heat. a spoonful of butter.
  6. Without removing from the heat, add flour little by little, while stirring with a spatula.
  7. Pour in milk little by little, stirring constantly. (The amount of milk depends on the desired thickness of the sauce.)The sauce should be smooth.
  8. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, boil for 5 minutes over low heat. Add salt, pepper and nutmeg. Add a little more butter and stir.
  9. Put the boiled cabbage in a frying pan with a removable handle (or in a saucepan).
  10. Cover the cabbage with the béchamel sauce.
  11. Grate cheese on a fine grater. Then sprinkle the cabbage with grated cheese, drizzle with melted butter.
  12. Place in an oven preheated to 190-200 degrees, allow to lightly brown in the oven (about 10-15 minutes).
  13. Cauliflower with béchamel sauce is ready.
  14. Serve the dish immediately, garnish with fresh herbs.
