Instructions

  1. First bring the water to a boil. A little olive oil and salt in the water. Place the whole cauliflower in the water (now cook the cauliflower until crisp or almost ready, depending on your taste).
  2. In the meantime, peel the potatoes and slice them into small fried potato slices. Fry these fried potato slices in a pan (some pepper, salt, herbs of your choice).
  3. Now take the cauliflower out of the water save the cauliflower water. Place the cauliflower in a baking dish, the cauliflower should protrude slightly from the upper opening if possible and there should be enough space around the cauliflower for the potatoes. Place the fried potato slices around the cauliflower.
  4. We create a white sauce from the water we saved from boiling the cauliflower. To do this, we put some oil / butter in a hot pan and stir in some flour, pour some of the cauliflower water into it. Let thicken with constant stirring until the right consistency is achieved. Now we add half a cup of cream, bring the whole thing to a boil and season with salt and pepper. Now we put the slices of the breakfast bacon over the cauliflower and pour the white sauce over the bacon so that it runs the cauliflower and potatoes and collects at the bottom of the pan (the amount of sauce should be at least 1 third of the pan). Now cover the whole thing with the grated cheese and bake in the preheated oven at approx. 200 ° C for about 20-30 minutes.
