Celery Chips

Chips can be healthy if you make them yourself from natural ingredients. Appetizing celery appetizer turns out to be tasty, crispy, and with a characteristic aroma. These chips are slightly softer than homemade potato chips.

Ingredients

  • Celery (root) – 700 g
  • Dried greens (Italian herbs) – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil (for deep fat) – 300-400 ml

Directions

  1. We prepare the necessary products.
  2. We wash the celery, clean it, cut off all stains and damage. Then dry the celery with a paper towel.
  3. Cut the celery into four pieces.
  4. Cut off the corners of the root crop quarters. Then cut each part of celery into very thin slices (1-2 mm thick). I used a cabbage shredder for this.
  5. Put the celery in a bowl, sprinkle with black pepper and dried Italian herbs.
  6. Mix celery with spices.
  7. In a saucepan with a thick bottom or a cauldron, heat the vegetable oil well.
    Dip the celery slices into the oil in small batches.
  8. Stirring, fry the chips until they are reduced in volume and golden brown.
  9. First, we must transfer the finished chips to a paper towel or napkin so that excess oil is absorbed. You can even get the chips a little wet. (If there is a lot of oil left on the chips, they will quickly lose their crispiness.) Then place the chips in a bowl and sprinkle with salt. We mix.
  10. Celery chips are ready. From the specified amount of products, 120 g of celery chips are obtained. If the chips lose their crispness over time, you can dry them in the oven or in a dry skillet.
