Instructions

  1. Boil the spaetzle in salted water for 1 - 2 minutes. Drain and drain. Cut the onions into small pieces.
  2. Heat the butter and sweat the onions until translucent. Add the frozen spinach and cover and let thaw over medium heat for about 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  3. Cut the ham into small pieces and mix with the spinach, spaetzle and 2/3 cheese. Put everything in a baking dish and sprinkle with the rest of the cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 220 ° C for about 10 minutes.
  4. Tip: If you can`t get fresh spaetzle, you can also take 400 g of dried spaetzle and then cook it. I always take the young chopped spinach as it is easier to distribute.

Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling.
