Cheese Churro Recipe

by Editorial Staff

Once I came across a very interesting and unusual recipe for cheese churros. It’s not difficult and cooked with available products. I used regular hard cheese. These churros are not at all like the ones I tried in Spain. They turned out slightly salty with a distinct cheese flavor. It tastes best with hot tea or coffee, or as an appetizer with wine.

Ingredients

  • Cheese – 100 g
  • Milk – 100 ml
  • Apple juice – 100 ml
  • Flour – 200 g
  • Leavening agent – 0.5 teaspoon.
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Vegetable oil for deep-frying

Directions

  1. Bring the milk almost to a boil, add the grated cheese.
  2. Melt the cheese in the hot milk stirring constantly over low heat. Cover the pot with a lid and let it cool down.
  3. Mix the sifted flour with the leavening agent. Add the juice. Stir it a little.
  4. Pour in the cheese cream and stir it well until smooth.
  5. Add the eggs one by one. The dough should be quite thick, as for pancakes.
  6. Use a piping bag to squeeze out the dough into the hot vegetable oil in the form of rings or fancy squiggles. Brown the churros.
  7. Place the cooked churros on a napkin.

Enjoy your meal!
