Ingredients

  • 1 ½ kg potato (s)
  • 300 g cheese, raclette cut into fine cubes
  • 150 g breakfast bacon, finely chopped
  • 150 g ham, cooked, finely sliced
  • 2 medium onion (s), cut into strips
  • some salt and pepper
  • some butter

Instructions

  1. Wash the potatoes and pressure cook for 7 to 8 minutes until the core is still slightly firm.
  2. Let the potatoes cool, then peel and grate them.
  3. Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until starting to brown.
  4. Add the ham to the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes to heat through.
  5. Add the onion strips and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until softened. Season with salt and pepper, then set aside.
  6. Preheat the oven to 150–160 °C / 302–320 °F with the circulating air setting.
  7. Butter a rectangular glass baking dish with dimensions 7 cm height × 20 cm width × 30 cm length.
  8. Spread a layer of grated potatoes in the prepared dish and season with salt and pepper.
  9. Sprinkle half of the raclette cheese over the potatoes.
  10. Spread half of the bacon, ham, and onion mixture over the cheese.
  11. Spread another layer of grated potatoes over the mixture and season with salt and pepper.
  12. Sprinkle the remaining raclette cheese over the potatoes.
  13. Spread the remaining bacon, ham, and onion mixture over the cheese.
  14. Top with a final layer of grated potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  15. Dot the top with flakes of butter.
  16. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes total. During the final 10 minutes, increase the oven temperature to 180 °C / 356 °F to brown the top.
