Instructions

  1. Peel the apples, quarter them, cut into wedges and immediately drizzle with a little lemon juice and set aside. Drain the cherries over a sieve, place on kitchen paper and pat dry.
  2. For the batter, mix the softened butter with the sugar and a pinch of salt until creamy. Add the 3 eggs one at a time and stir together. Mix the flour with the baking powder and gradually stir in alternately with the milk.
  3. Mix 2 eggs, sour cream, sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon in a smaller mixing bowl for the topping.
  4. Now fill the batter into a greased and floured springform pan of 30 cm and smooth it out. Spread some of the sour cream on the dough, place the apple wedges on the outside and fill the middle with the cherries. Pour the remaining sour cream mixture over this and spread it evenly.
  5. Bake in the oven preheated to 160 ° C in the lower third of the oven for about 50 - 60 minutes until golden yellow. Then let the cake cool down a bit in the tin, then take it out and let it cool down completely.
  6. When the cake has cooled down, heat the orange jam slightly, stir until smooth and spread it carefully on the cake.
  7. If you want, you can dust the edge of the cake with a little icing sugar or put a few dabs of cream around the outside for decoration.
