Ingredients

  • 500 g heart (s), (chicken hearts) frozen
  • 1 small onion (s)
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped broth, (chicken or vegetable broth), instant
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 large clove (s) garlic, pressed or diced
  • 1 cup water
  • Fat, for frying
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Thaw the chicken hearts, rinse them thoroughly under cold water, and pat dry.
  2. Cut the onion into cubes.
  3. Heat fat in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the onion cubes and fry for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Add the chicken hearts to the pan and fry for 5-10 minutes over medium heat until the internal temperature reaches 74 °C / 165 °F.
  5. Pour the water into the pan and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.
  6. Stir in the instant broth and tomato paste until combined.
  7. Add the pressed or diced garlic and season with pepper to taste.
  8. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  9. Serve hot.
