Chicken Rolls with Tangerines and Cheese

Chicken fillet is considered by many to be dry and tasteless. In this recipe, cheese, spices and juicy tangerines are added to the chicken, and the dish takes on a completely different taste. This chicken can also be included in the holiday menu.

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet – 2 pcs. (600 g)
  • Mandarins – 3 pcs. (200 g)
  • Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp
  • Hard cheese – 60 g
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper (or a mixture of peppers) – to taste
  • Basil or parsley greens – for serving

Directions

  1. Prepare the required ingredients. For this dish, it is better to use fresh fillets; more juices are stored in such meat.
  2. Peel the tangerines and white membranes (these can add bitterness to the dish).
  3. Grind the cheese on a fine grater. 2 tablespoon. set aside the tablespoons of cheese for the final stage of baking the chicken rolls.
  4. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees. Cut the chicken fillet lengthwise into two parts, not cutting to the end. Uncover the meat like a book
  5. Beat the meat with a hammer so that the fillet layer is about 1 cm thick. Before beating, you can cover the fillet with a foil, then it will not break and you will keep the kitchen clean.
  6. Apply 1/2 tablespoon. tablespoons of mayonnaise on the surface of the beaten chicken fillet and spread evenly with the back of a spoon. Season the fillets and sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  7. Apply half of the crushed cheese to the surface of the meat in a thin layer.
  8. Put 8-10 tangerine slices on the wide side of the chicken fillet.
  9. Roll the meat into a roll, starting from the edge with tangerines.
  10. Wrap the tangerine chicken roll with cling film on all sides. Prepare the second fillet in the same way. Place the chicken rolls in a baking dish.
  11. Pour 100 ml of water into the roll form and place in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
  12. Then remove the mold from the oven and free the rolls from the cling film. Return the rolls to the baking dish.
  13. Sprinkle the cheese on the rolls. Bake the meat for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese melts.
  14. Chicken rolls with tangerines and cheese are ready! Leave the meat to cool for a while.
  15. Transfer the rolls to a serving plate, garnish with fresh herbs.
  16. Slice chicken rolls diagonally in portions and serve.
  17. Juicy meat with even juicier citrus filling – delicious!
