Chicken Shawarma

The main ingredient of homemade shawarma is chicken fillet, which we will pre-cook in a pan, frying on both sides.

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet – 150 g
  • Tomato – 0.5 pcs.
  • Cucumber – 0.5 pcs.
  • White cabbage – 70 g
  • Lavash – 1 pc.
  • Ketchup – 2 tablespoons
  • Mayonnaise – 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare food for chicken shawarma. Wash the vegetables.
  2. Season the chicken fillet for shawarma with salt and ground pepper. Fry the fillets, covered on each side, until tender. Cool the finished fillet.
  3. Chop the cabbage very finely. Transfer the cabbage slices to a bowl, lightly salt and stir.
  4. Cut the fresh tomato into thin slices and the cucumber into strips.
  5. Combine mayonnaise and ketchup in a separate bowl. Stir. Add ground pepper in the process. Homemade shawarma sauce with chicken is ready.
  6. Spread pita bread (half) on the working surface of the table. Grease the center of the pita bread with the prepared sauce.
  7. Place the cabbage in the center.
  8. Spread the cucumber and tomato slices on top.
  9. Cut the cooled chicken fillet into pieces. Place the slices over the vegetables.
  10. Pour the sauce over the shawarma filling.
  11. Roll the stuffed pita bread tightly in the shape of an envelope.
  12. Brown the prepared chicken shawarma in a dry skillet.
  13. Homemade chicken shawarma is ready!
