Chopped Lamb Steak Sandwiches Ingredients

  • Young lamb (lamb) ground – 700 g
  • Chopped garlic – 3 cloves
  • Fresh mint, chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Fresh parsley, chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Ground zira – ½ teaspoon.
  • Ground coriander – ½ teaspoon.
  • Ground black pepper – ¼ teaspoon.
  • Salt – ¼ teaspoon
  • Yogurt and cucumber sauce
  • Small pits – 5 pcs.
  • For garnish: cucumber, pistachios, fresh mint

    Sauce:

  • Natural yogurt, thick, no additives (Greek) – 2 glasses
  • Peeled cucumber, seedless, cut into small cubes – 0.6667 cup
  • Pistachios, finely chopped – ¼ cup
  • Chopped cilantro – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon.
  • Ground red pepper – ¼ teaspoon.
  • (Stir all sauce ingredients, cover and refrigerate)

Chopped Lamb Steak Sandwiches Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground lamb with minced garlic, fresh mint, fresh parsley, ground zira, ground coriander, ground black pepper, and salt. Mix until just combined.
  2. In another bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt, diced cucumber, chopped pistachios, chopped cilantro, salt, and red pepper. Cover and refrigerate.
  3. Form the lamb mixture into 5 equal patties.
  4. Preheat grill to 175-200°C (347-392°F).
  5. Spray the grill grate with non-stick cooking spray.
  6. Grill the patties for 7-8 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 63°C (145°F).
  7. Place a grilled lamb patty on each pita bread with yogurt sauce. Garnish with cucumber slices, pistachios, and fresh mint leaves.
