Cooking: 3 hours

Ingredients

  • Flour – 400 g
    Butter – 200 g
    Sugar – 200 g
    Eggs – 2 large or 3 small
    Soda – 1 teaspoon.
    Vanilla sugar – 10 g
    Salt – 0.5 teaspoon.

  • For the glaze (icing):
    Egg white – 1 pc.
    Powdered sugar – 150 g
    Lemon juice – 1.5 teaspoon.

Instructions

  1. Whisk the butter at room temperature in a large bowl. Add sugar, beat. Add eggs one at a time. Next, add flour mixed with soda and salt. Knead the shortbread dough. Cool the dough in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  2. Roll out the dough, cut out the cookies with molds. Place the Christmas cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. We bake shortbread cookies in an oven preheated to 175 degrees for 7 minutes.
  3. For the icing beat the egg white with a whisk, add powdered sugar and lemon juice, mix. Place the icing in a pastry bag and decorate the Christmas cookies. You can do it without icing, just sprinkle the cookies with sugar, or just eat the cookies without any coating.
