Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, (sour variety)
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 g butter
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 125 ml calvados
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon, ground

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples and cut into 8 slices each.
  2. Melt the sugar in a pan. (do not let it turn brown) add the butter and stir. Add the apples and cinnamon and simmer the apple slices, still firm to the bite, stirring constantly.
  3. Take out the apple slices and set aside. Add the calvados and flambé immediately.
  4. Add the cream and simmer until it has gained some consistency and becomes creamy.
  5. Take out of the stove, add the apple slices and let rest for about 5 minutes.
  6. Serve lukewarm with chocolate or vanilla ice cream.
  7. Decorate with peppermint leaves if necessary.
