Cottage Cheese-Orange Casserole

Every citrus lover should try this chic casserole with a pronounced orange flavor and aroma at least once in their life.

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese of any fat content – 500 g
  • Large oranges – 2 pcs. (only about 400 g)
  • Butter – 100 g
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Sugar – 120-150 g
  • Semolina (I used semolina) – 90 g (6 tablespoons)
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar (optional) – for decoration

Directions

  1. I immediately prepared all the ingredients for the casserole. Oranges washed well in hot water. I took the butter out of the refrigerator to soften it.
  2. From one orange, using a fine grater, I removed the orange part of the zest. I squeezed juice from the same orange, it turned out 100 ml. And the second orange peeled and divided into slices. For a perfect result, freed the pulp from the films, but this is not necessary. Then I cut orange slices into small pieces.
  3. I left the finished syrup to cool to room temperature.
  4. While the syrup was boiling, I prepared a baking dish (I have a diameter of 23 cm). To do this, the bottom and sides of the mold were generously greased with butter (about 20 g of the total). And then sprinkled with 1 tablespoon of semolina. If the kitchen is hot, then it is better to put the mold in the refrigerator for now. At this stage, I turned on the oven to preheat to 160 degrees.
  5. Then, in a blender, I combined eggs, cottage cheese, butter cut into arbitrary pieces, the remaining sugar, and orange syrup. Interrupted until smooth.
  6. I added the remaining semolina, baking powder, zest, and chopped oranges to this mass. Mixed well. I put the curd mass into the prepared form.
  7. I sent the form into a preheated oven and cooked a curd casserole with oranges for 1 hour. But for each oven, the time may differ, so you need to bake exactly until a golden-brown crust forms on the surface.
  8. She took out the finished curd-orange casserole from the oven and left it to cool in the mold. Then she took the casserole out of the mold and sprinkled it with powdered sugar, but this is optional.
  9. I serve this orange casserole both warm and cold, in any form it is good.
