Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs. In a tall container, beat the egg whites into egg whites and refrigerate.
  2. Mix the butter with the sugar and the vanilla sugar until frothy or creamy. Slowly add the egg yolks. Stir everything until the sugar is dissolved. Now sift the flour and baking powder into the mixture spoon by spoon and mix with the milk until creamy. Finally add the egg whites and carefully fold in.
  3. Grease the baking sheet and preheat the oven to 200 ° C to 220 ° C. Drain the churches well.
  4. Divide the dough in half. Spread one half on the baking sheet. Mix the other half of the dough with the cocoa powder (add a little milk if necessary). Spread the brown mixture over the light dough. Now distribute the cherries on the dough.
  5. Bake the cake in the middle of the hot oven for an hour. But be careful - depending on the oven, the cake can be ready after 45 minutes!
  6. While the cake is in the oven, prepare the buttercream as follows: Whisk the milk, powdered sugar (it is better to sieve it, otherwise there may be lumps), vanilla sugar and egg yolks in a saucepan. Bring everything to a boil over low heat and then let it cool down.
  7. Now stir the softened butter until frothy. Add the cooled mass to the butter and stir into a smooth cream. The buttercream is spread on the cooled cake.
  8. Finally, liquefy the chocolate (water bath). With a spoon, samples can be dripped onto the cream as desired. Tip: If you like, you can also use the piping bag to paint beautiful decorations of your choice on it.
  9. The cake can then be cut into 24 rectangular pieces for consumption.
