Ingredients

  • 1 kg spelled flour type 630
  • 160 g suar
  • 160 g butter, melted, lukewarm
  • 1 cube yeast, fresh
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 500 ml milk, 1.5%, lukewarm
  • 200 g cranberries or sultanas, but soak them beforehand

  • 1 egg (s), whisked

Instructions

  1. Briefly mix the spelled flour, sugar, salt and melted butter. Crumble the yeast cubes over it and add the lukewarm milk completely, also add the cranberries. Knead everything together vigorously to form a smooth dough.
  2. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 2 hours. I do this phase in the oven and heat the oven to 50 degrees and again after an hour so that the dough is nice and cozy.
  3. After two hours, knead the dough again vigorously, preferably by hand. Form knots, rolls, plaits or pretzels, brush with egg and bake at 180 degrees with top and bottom heat for about 25 minutes until golden.
  4. Let them cool down briefly and if you like, you can coat the rolls with icing. The cranberry rolls taste wonderful and are not only popular with children.
